RED IS BETTER THAN WHITE WHEN IT COMES TO CANCER FIGHTING

A study published in the Food Research International found that the amount of cancer cells that died after exposure to Red onions was three to four times as great as the amount of cancer cells that died after exposure to white or lighter colored onions.
Over the years I have advised you to put onions and garlic (Which are related) into your diet. Bad breath problems can be prevented by adding parsley into the mix.

DRINKING DIET SODA LINKED TO STROKE, DEMENTIA RISK

A new study published in Stroke, a Journal of the American Heart Association, examined 2,888 people all more than 45 years old and 1,484 people more than 60 years old all from  Framingham, Massachusetts. A 10 year period from 1991 to 2001 was studied. Researchers documented stroke and dementia occurring over those 10 years, taking into account the number of both sugar-laden drinks and artificially-sweetened soft drinks.

Drinking artificially sweetened soft drinks each day led to an approximately three times higher risk of having a stroke or developing dementia, respectively.

My advise is to decrease or better yet, stop your intake of artificially sweetened drinks.  To wean yourself off of Diet Sodas, try drinking clean water or carbonated water (flavored or plain) by adding some fruit,  or mixing in a little fruit juice for flavor.  Delicious, little calories and healthy!

STOP WORRYING AND LIVE LONGER!!!!

A new British study of more than 65,000 people who reported feeling even mild anxiety, which could keep then awake at night, or depleted their self-confidence, were 16% more likely to die over a 10 year period than others that had no such worries

Approximately one out of four people experience mild anxiety. Mild stressors, concerns about work, finances, or relationships are all contributors to mild anxiety. The solution or at least ways you can cope with this common problem are:  Exercise (Brisk walking), mediation (If you can’t find a quiet place in your home, try sitting on a stool in the shower. Do not turn the water on), for 10 or 15 minutes. Talk therapy and taking a natural B-Complex vitamin supplement. Also Calcium and Magnesium 500mg and 250mg at bedtime can help you to relax and get a good night’s sleep.

Remember the old song, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy!!”

BLUEBERRIES AND STRAWBERRIES CAN LOWER YOUR RISK FOR HEART DISEASE

New research in the Journal Circulation showed that by eating at least 1/2 cup of blueberries and strawberries three times a week can lower your risk of heart disease by 32%.

This will also help you lose weight because  a cup of blueberries is only 84 calories and has 4 grams of fiber to fill you up, and help get rid of belly bloating. Start eating a bowl of berries at least 3 times a week, instead of those high processed sugar, low fiber processed snacks.

HOW TO REDUCE HEART FAILURE BY HALF

A study presented at the Congress of Heart Failure Association of the European Society Of Cardiology entitled “The Effect of Co-enzyme Q10 on morbidity in chronic heart failure”, showed that the nutrient CoQ10 can reduce mortality rates by half in patients with moderate to severe heart failure.

This was a long term, double blind, placebo-controlled study that split 420 European and Asian patients between 100mg of CoQ10 three times daily (202 people and placebo (218). After two years, 18n patients died in the CoQ10 group (9%), compared to 36 (17%) in the study group.

CoQ10 is concentrated in the mitochondria-the power plants of the cells–and plays a vital role in the production of chemical energy by participating in the production of ATP, the body’s “energy currency.”
