ITS ALLERGY SEASON. HOW CAN YOU TELL IF IT IS A COLD OR AN ALLERGY?

In my book, What You Must Know About Allergy Relief, I give my readers the difference between colds and allergies.
Actually time will tell if it is a cold or allergy. Although both begin with an itchy, runny nose and even a scratchy throat, they don’t end up the same way. Here are some tips to tell them apart:
1. Check you tissues! Allergy secretions are thin and clear.
Cold secretions are thicker and may change color to green or yellow.
2. Colds lasts 7 to 10 days. Allergies can go on indefinitely.
3. Low grade fever is a cold symptom.
4. If you seem to develop a cold during the same time each year, it could be a sign of a seasonal allergy.
5. If you have a seasonal allergy, your symptoms will get worse outdoors.
6. Even if it’s not hay fever season, you could still be having an allergic reaction to an indoor allergen, such as dust, mold, or a pet.
If you get a diagnosis as an allergy, buy a good air purifier and keep it on in your bedroom all the time. This purifies the air from dust, pollen and molds.

HOW TO REDUCE HEART FAILURE BY HALF

A study presented at the Congress of Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology entitled “The effect of Coenzyme Q10 on morbidity in chronic heart failure”, showed that the nutrient CoQ10 can reduce mortality rates by half in patients with moderate to severe heart failure.
This was a long-term double blind placebo-controlled study split 420 European and Asian patients between 100mg of CoQ10 three times daily (202 people) and placebo (218). After two years 18 patients died in the CoQ10 group (9%), compared to 36 (17%) in the study group.
CoQ10 is concentrated in the mitochondria-the power plants of the cells–and plays a vital role in the production of chemical energy by participating in the production of ATP, the body’s “energy currency.”

ONE OF THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH AMONG WOMEN–DEADLY PAIN RELIEVERS.

A report from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention shows that more women now die from overdoses of prescription drugs such as OxyContin (Oxycodone Hcl), Vicodin (Acetaminophen/Hydrocodone Bitartrate), Percocet (Acetaminophen/Oxtcodo0ne Hcl) than from cervical cancer, homicide or street drugs such as heroin and cocaine.
More men die from painkiller overdoses than women do, but the rate of death among women is rising much more rapidly–soaring 400 percent in 10 years.
Women are more likely to experience chronic pain, which translates into taking painkiller drugs at higher doses. over a longer period of time. Women also are more likely to take anti-anxiety drugs that can be a lethal in combination with pain medication.
My feelings as a pharmacist is to look to alternative therapies for pain. See my book “Prescription Alternatives” for more information.

What Vitamin is Highest in your blood stream and lowest in February?

GIVE UP!! IT’S VITAMIN D
University of California, Irvine and Mayo Clinic have found that Vitamin D levels in the U.S. population peak in August and bottom out in February.
Low levels of vitamin D cam impair immunity, which is your bodies first line of defense against pathogens.
Even with food fortification, vitamin D levels in the population show a high level of seasonality due to the influence of sunlight.
The New England Journal of Medicine stated that over 1 BILLION people worldwide are deficient in Vitamin D.
In my book “New Vitamin Bible”. I recommend taking a supplement of natural Vitamin D, D3, in the amount of 1000 to 2000 iu daily.
