My father was right 60 years ago. He loved to take a hot bath, so he had built a 6′ 6” bathtub where he could soak for an hour. It was so long ago, that he had to have the Jacuzzi outside the tub with the jets put into the water. But I digress.
The good news comes from a study out of the National Center for Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Loughborough in the United Kingdom.
The researchers recruited 14 men and assigned them to either an hour of moderate cycling or an hour-long soak in a 104-degree bath.
The bathers burned about 140 calories on the average, similar to a half-hour walk. They also found the bathers had improved ability to control blood sugar, an important measure of metabolic health.
Exposing your body to heat has similar effects to cold exposure, it seems to activate your circulatory system that may have long-term health benefits.
WANT TO LIVE LONGER, READ!
Researchers at Yale University studied the reading habits of 3,635 people over 50 and found that the ones who read for more than 3.5 hours each week, or about 30 minutes per day, were 23% less likely to die over the course of the 12 year study.
Have you read any good books lately?
HERE IS A REAL SHOCKER!!!
A study published in the European Journal of Nutrition stated that was a 70% increase in the diabetes risk of men who drank one or more weekly servings of DIET SODA, compared with the risk of men who rarely drink it.
My advise is to drink clean, pure, alkaline water instead of sodas, diet or regular.
MIXING NSAIDS (ASPIRIN, IBUPROFEN etc) with ANTIDEPRESSANTS (PROZAC, CELEXA) CAUSES PROBLEMS
A study published in the Journal of the National Academy of Sciences showed that mixing SSRI’s (Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors) and NSAID’S caused a very strong antagonistic relationship. NSAID’S are a widely used class of pain relieving drugs which include aspirin and ibuprofen, but not acetaminophen (Tylenol)
Depressive symptoms in people taking Celexa went away 55% of the time, but when they took an anti-inflammatory on a regular basis it fell to 45%
Major depression is estimated to affect 16,5% of adults over their lifetime, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.
My advise if you are taking this combination of drugs, talk to your physician before changing anything.

VITAMIN D AND ASTHMA
Scientists reviewed nine trials testing Vitamin D supplements against a placebo on nearly 11,190 children, who have asthma.
They found that the one who were given a Vitamin D supplement over a 12 month period, reduced their risk of severe asthma attacks requiring hospital admission from 6% to 3%.
I recommend your buying Vitamin D3, the natural form of Vitamin D.

SUGAR AND ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS CAUSE WEIGHT GAIN.
A research study published in the American Journal Of Clinical Nutrition in 2014, randomly assigned 22 overweight adults to consume soft drinks and fruit drinks or yogurt and ice cream that was sweetened with either table sugar (sucrose) or artificial sweeteners. The sugar dose averaged 36 teaspoons per day, with 70% of it coming from beverages. No one knew how much of the sweetener they were getting.
After 10 weeks the table sugar group gained about 3 pounds, while the artificial sweetener group gained 2 1/2 lbs. The sugar group also felt less full and had a greater appetite after lunch and dinner.
