A national Cancer Institute study tracked nearly 537,000 adult between 50 and 71, monitoring their diet and health over the course of 16 years. They found that the people who eat the most processed and unprocessed beef, lamb and pork, had a 26% greater risk of dying from one of nine fatal diseases, such as cancer, heart disease, lung disease, stroke, diabetes, infections. Alzheimer’s. kidney and liver disease.
Replacing red meat with fish and poultry decreased the risk by 25% from meat caused diseases.
My father was in the meat business when I grew up. I stopped eating red meat about 40 years ago. I’m not a vegetarian, I do eat poultry and fish.
Try to cut back on the red meat you eat, for a longer and healthier life.
