PROTECT YOUR HEART WITH POTASSIUM

Researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham showed that a high potassium diet makes your arteries more flexible and therefore reduces your risk for hardening of the arteries.

High potassium foods include potatoes, spinach, carrots, artichokes and bananas.

Potassium supplements are limited to 99mg of elemental potassium. Physicians will prescribe potassium to patients taking certain diuretics (water pills) that cause potassium to be lost.
