Researchers followed 81 men and women aged 40 to 65 for six weeks to see if eating whole grain bread, cereals, pasta, crackers and other food was healthier.
They found the following:
1. People lost 92 calories a day because they burned more calories at rest and excreted more calories in their stools.
2. They had higher stool weights and frequency
3. Had lower levels of gut bacterium that can be linked to inflammation.
When you are buying breads, cereals, pasta and crackers make sure the first ingredient is “Whole Grains”. They will try to fool you by saying Whole Wheat, which is not the same thing.
